APPLICATION FOR DERMATOLOGY REGISTRAR TRAINING POSITIONS FOR 2013

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applications can only be made online via the College website on the standardised application form. An application fee is charged. An application will not be considered if the fee has not been paid.

You should not proceed with your application if you are unwilling or unable to comply with the requirements set out below.

You will be required to confirm that you have read the instructions, etc., before proceeding to the online application page.

You must forward BY POST to the Australasian College of Dermatologists at PO Box 3785, Rhodes NSW 2138, the following support information:

• Three personal photographs (passport size).
• Official transcripts or true certified copies of your university and medical school results. 
  (Please note that official transcripts will not be returned to sender.)
• A true certified copy of your Australian medical registration certificate.
• Letter confirming completion of PGY 1 and PGY 2 stating terms. If you are currently completing PGY 2, you must submit a letter stating you are undertaking PGY 2 and your expected terms. (Please note that if selected, you will not be permitted to enter the training program until evidence of completion of PGY 2 is received).

This information must be received by the College by 31 March 2012.  Late information will not be accepted.

Do not send:

• Testimonials or references
• Copies or reprints of publications or articles.

Referees
Applicants will be required to nominate two referees each in three separate categories, i.e. a total of six names :

(i)         medical peers (of equal status with whom the applicant has worked directly)
(ii)        medical supervisors of the applicant’s work
(iii)       paramedical or nursing staff members with whom the applicant has worked.

Each of the referees must be acquainted with the applicant’s work within the last two years.

Referees are not required to submit written referee reports.  One of the referees will be contacted prior to shortlisting (not necessarily in the listed order).  The College will determine which referee is to be contacted.  For applicants who are shortlisted, other referees may be contacted at a later stage.

Consent
There is a consent form permitting the College to contact any person with whom you have worked, in accordance with privacy legislation.  This must be downloaded, signed, and posted to the College at PO Box 3785, Rhodes, NSW 2138, by 31 March 2012.  Your application will not proceed if you are unable to give consent.

Fee
There is a fee of AUD$1,325.50 (including GST).  Please complete the procedures set out in the form.  You may pay online by credit card (Visa or Mastercard only); or by posting a cheque to the College.  A tax receipt will be sent to you in due course.

If you subsequently decide to cancel your application, please note that the fee is not refundable. A receipt for your payment will be sent to you by post.  Your application will not be considered if your payment is not received by the closing date.

Privacy
Information volunteered in this application is managed by the College in accordance with its Personal Information Privacy Policy.  This is consistent with the Federal Privacy Act.

Availability of Training Positions
At this stage it is expected that there will be training positions available in all states in 2013.

Closing Date
The closing date for applications for training positions is 31 March 2012. Applications received after this date will not be considered under any circumstances.
