Application Process

Selection of Trainees for 2006

Applications for admission in to the College's training program in 2006 closed in May 2005. There were 70 applicants for admission into the various State Faculty programs as follows:

Assessment of Overseas Trained Dermatologists
College assesses overseas trained dermatologists in accordance with the procedures established by the Australian Medical Council.

Accreditation of Training Programs
In accordance with College's Training Program Handbook (above), College reviews and accredits training programs in individual hospitals on a four-yearly basis.

In 2005, College re-inspected the following training program:

New South Wales:
Skin and Cancer Foundation/Westmead Hospital/The CHildren's Hospital Westmead.

On the recommendation of the Board of Censors, the College Council has given full accreditation to the Westmead rotation. It will be re-inspected at the time of the next full NSW Faculty training program accreditation.

On the recommendation of the Board of Censors, the College Council has given full accreditation to the NSW training programs for a period of four years, pending a review of the Westmead rotation in February, 2005; and has given full accreditation to the Victorian and WA training programs for a further four years.
